Nevadans?

Ok, way back when, I promised I would post pics of my incubator. Of course back then I had dreams of a beautiful painted cabinet that I would be proud to show off. But function won out over form. Here it is anyway...

Before construction... (minus the door)

Here's the back and the backing during construction (that is Flex Watt Heat Tape on the backerboard there)...

Here's the inside (I have lots of room for more shelves

), that's a plexiglass window on top but I keep a blanket over it for insulation unless I'm getting into it...

And here is the not so glamorous bator completed...

for the eggies in the bator!

Rikoshe: While Tickfaw is very small, it is very rural. I don't think my family really "knows" anyone there - eventhough they have owned property there for 30+ years. I haven't lived there in 25 yrs. We call it the "compound". It is 5+ acres (used to have 35+ but sold some). There are 4 mobile homes there with 4 generations (my mom, sister, 2 nieces and their families). Interestingly, they do not own any farm animals nor do they garden veggies! If I had land like that with a well, fencing, and great pastures - you better believe I would have a mini farm!

Sorry, I am not so active on posting lately - just trying to feel better - I go see my ENT doctor next Wednesday - maybe some answers then....

There is nothing worse than having health issues and not knowing what is wrong or how to treat it!

Thanks everyone for the comments on the chicks - I sure like them. Have more in the bator, need to write down the date in and due date yet

My ducks are starting to lay and I have an extra dozen or two a week - if anyone is interested let me know and I can make plans to meet you when we run into town. I ask $3.00 a dozen. They are great eggs for baking.

I want some! They make the best brownies and, even though I am on "that nasty four letter word", I did promise to bake something for the senior dance this weekend.

Thanks for the strong hatching vibes! Wow they are strong, they almost knocked me over when I stood up a minute ago!

Already I can dance for longer than I could a few weeks ago. So there is an upside to that nasty four letter word! Thanks for the eggies! The seniors are gonna love my brownies!

Carol;
Well I wanted some blue eggs from americauna chickens and I was looking on eBay and his eggs were the blueist. Unfortunatly when they arrived they were more green than blue. It must have been something that happened in transit lol. The Bermuda egg triangle. They go in blue and come out green. But anyway the only name I have for the seller is the ebay id Celie12345 but then how many Celie's could there be in a town of 400 lol.
I hope most of the 4 eggs i got from there hatch. I will post the progress. If you talk to Tickfaw, tell them Rikoshe say's HEY!!

Rikoshe

Rikoshe - have you left feedback for the seller? The picture used is NOT of their eggs - the picture has been stolen - see this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5971822#p5971822
