Keep us posted on how Petey does. A friend ours mini-dachshund that they'd had for at least 8 years died this afternoon in an animal hospital. A rat bit her on Saturday and she had blood poisoning by Sunday. People don't realize how deadly animal bites can be - not only to chickens, but to other pets and people.
I just hope that Petey made his attacker suffer; and I hope that the little dachshund got her own back on the rat.

We use a live trap and then place the trapped animal, the trap, and a bowl of water with dry ice in it all together in a garbage can. The CO2 suffocates the trapped animal. If you can get it, N gas is even better because the animal doesn't realize that it is suffocating.
For future reference, nothing in the world tells a tailgater to "BACK OFF" better than a dead skunk in a box in the back of the truck.
Women don't have to wear it either if they don't want to. I admire those that don't stress about it but I also get a kick out of it myself so I'll keep messin' around with it. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area and I know a few men that stress about it as well (I mean folks outside of the media).
I'm one of those women who doesn't wear it. I was blessed with a rather good complexion - to the point that on occasion I have been asked to remove my makeup when I'm not wearing any and I've even been asked how I achieve such a "subtle" look.
It's just not my style. Given my druthers, I'd cut my hair off about 2" long so I could just wash and wear it.
I rarely wear it myself but on those few occasions where I do I want it to look natural. I get claustrophobic if I get too much makeup on my face. My face cannot breathe if that makes any sense.
I tried that mineral makeup once and I thought I was going to suffocate to death before I got it off. The funny thing is until I was 25 I never wore makeup but I got a job at IBM and they have a strict dress code for all of their employees or at least they did when I worked for them all those years ago. Women were required to dress business executive and makeup was required. Sounds kind of funny when I talk about it now. Several years later I went to work for Microsoft and it was not uncommon to see someone come to work in their PJ's. *LOL*
No makeup for me..............I like to rub my face, it is too expensive, I am too lazy to put it on, I like the rain on my face the few times we get any.............plus if people don't like the way I look, well then Don't Look
I like the first one Sunny
You were not kidding - those are CLOSE.
Never worked for Microsoft, but have a few friends who did/do and a nephew who works for the Gates foundation. I have always loved their work attitude and "hours" - comfy is their motto.
It did not take me long to enjoy the lack of dress code requirement for Microsoft that is for sure. I am a jeans and comfy pants girl all the way. The funny part is that I met my DH right before I moved out here so when I went to work for Microsoft and did not have to dress up anymore he very very rarely ever saw me in anything but t-shirt and jeans. If I put on a dress he kind of freaks out a bit. hehe
I don't let makeup stop me from getting rain on my face and as any of you that have seen me a lot know there are days when I don't bother as well. IDK I think it might be a regional+generational thing or something. My Mom was horrified that I still didn't wear makeup at 14! Course she sold the stuff so she was more than a little biased.
I also can't claim to have the perfect skin that Genny and Nadja have... still I wear it for me only. Cause I like it. I just don't give a poop what other's think about it one way or the other (well, now anyway. When I was young I cared). I think folks ought to do what they want to do when it comes to stuff like this. If you want to pierce your nose in 25 places go for it! Just remember when you do anything really extreme you are going to get more attention than any one person ever needs and you can't say, "Why is everyone staring at me?" when you've gone out of your way to get a strong reaction from folks.
As far as the cost of makeup... OMG! I can't argue that point on any level! It is getting ridiculous! It's not as costly as an addiction to cigarettes but geeeeez! Some days I really do think I've picked an awfully costly habit!
OK, I've changed my avatar to the first one but I'd still like to know what the rest of you think.
OMG! Aubrey, I'm so sorry girl! How's Petey doing today? I heard there is a vet that treats birds on Keystone above McCarran. Perhaps they can help?
As for Sunny - LOL, you look beautiful no matter what you wear or don't wear. I sell make up too and only wear it to work, then when I don't work I'm all natural! LOL and Sunny, I like the first eye picture.
As for a get together, I was thinking a bar b que this summer either at my house or a park but I prefer my house? Any ideas on a day that would fit most people. I know people like Saturdays a lot so perhaps a Saturday? idk. I have a smoker & grill so we can really cook up some good stuff and end it with smores on my outdoor fireplace.
