hes sooooo good! i feel confident in saying that he is officially in the clear!
So glad peteys in the clear.
Our young rooster JR went to a new home where my friend will place as she sees fit. She thought he was pretty handsome so he should find some hotchicks! Makes Leaving for vacation easier knowing poor little missy will get some relief from his teenage ways. And the young Roo gets to socialize with other chickens and my girls and Big Daddy knows he's the man! All is good!

heyyyy. i was wishing for a repeat performance of last nights thunderstorm!
I know I was too! We had an emergency drill Friday when the winds kicked up really hard and almost blew the little ones away, they all did great running back into the coop. Yesterday there was an actual emergency with a cat trying to get the chickens and they did really great running back into the coop, the ladies were already in the coop for the night and the girls wanted to free range some more. I was shocked to see the cat trying to take one of the girls. The ladies came running down from the coop ready to take it on I think, not really sure but boy did I scare that cat out of it's freaking mind.

I'm sure it was because the bigger ones were already in the coop. Not really sure. Last week the cat just sat in it's backyard watching them all free range and it looked puzzled at what it was seeing. I don't think it saw a chicken before?

Personally - I am a Heritage Orpington lover. Currently am hatching blue orp chicks (ok, not me personally hatching - I have broodies doing that
) I also have some EE (easter eggers) - who lay blueish/greenish eggs. Then I have my bantams - cochins - both in Silver Laced and Mille Fleur.
Oh good! You do have more of your blue orps coming! Keep 'em coming I'm going to want more of those again once we get setup in a new place.
Yes Elizabeth, Genny has some gorgeous, healthy birds! You can't go wrong there!

Yikes. They said one broke out in the VC Highlands during the Parelli event.
Yes DH and I saw that one on the way back from SLT. Glad to hear you got your wish Tyler! Sounds like you had an awesome time!
Pam congrats on finding a home for JR!
Wow Sheryl! Glad your girls know how to take care of themselves! I had a huge cat hanging around here for months when my juveniles were out last year but I couldn't catch him, he was too fast!
Aubrey YEA for Petey!!!
But don't be wishing for more thunderstorms unless they are accompanied by a lot of rain! We get enough fires out here from these dry lightening storms.
