Nevadans?

I think Bella is going to survive. She's walking now but she's favoring her right leg, I think she might of actually fell off the ramp from the coop. I gave her 1/2 an aspirin and she felt better. She ate today. She loves visiting the rest of the flock except for Sylvia who wanted to attack her but that wasn't about to happen. Bella doesn't want any of the Wyandottes around her so I make sure they are not. She likes everyone else though so that's a good sign. She's starting to put weight on now so I'm now weighing her everyday to see how her progress is going.

Ug, I hope he makes it.

Ugh, Lacey I feel for you. My oldest daughter is the chick doctor in our family. She is starting to gather quit a list of remedies. We have one Serama that should have been dead long ago that she keeps going on vitamin and mineral soup. A second that doesn't even know it is a chicken that she also keeps going. Sunny knows about here soft spot for the weak and infirm. You would not be able to pick the runt out of the rest of them now Sunny. She will move a chick into her bedroom and nurse it around the clock if that is what is needed. I have only seen her loose one in over a year. And she has had some really bad cases. We lost a couple not knowing anything was wrong. I think she probably knows how to do CPR on a chick by now.

Sunny, the land search is slow. Can't keep a car running long enough to go look much. Tough times. But it is a pretty long term plan not expecting much just yet. I did contact a couple of real estate agents but typically they want to show me 300k plus properties when i am looking for 80k. They take one look at my income and my debts and think they hit the mother load. I have no debts, yes you read right. not one dime of debt. that with a house with real equity in it and they think they have a turnip to squeeze. I try to tell them I have what I have because I am a professional tight wad. but oh no. they think I want to suddenly spend my money. Anyway long road and I am not walking real fast anyway.

Anyone out there that processes chickens? I think I am going to have to eat this rooster before it is over. I can't do it here in town. Plus my family has the squeamish thing happening that if they know we killed the bird they will not be able to eat it. I know a good case of hungry goes a long way in curing that but hey we are not starving here. just need something to do with an unneeded roo. I sure wish they would get over it cause I would love to raise our own meat.

Penturner-- here is a website that might be helpful with your land search. http://renorealtyblog.com/

Lots
of useful information and an easy to use MLS search tool. I gained so much valuable information from the site as I was looking for a home before real estate went over the cliff. I finally bought at the end of 2009.

Hope it works for you too.

I saw that incubator. Do you know anything about the manufacturer? "Only used for emu eggs" - LOL - I wonder if the racks would be suitable for chicken eggs?

12!

I think he's gonna be alright. dont know what was wrong with him, but he was really cold and had blood on his beak, so Im thinking head trauma. He seems perfectly fine in the head department, and he's warmed up, but he's not eating/drinking. By one last night he started movng around, and crashed, and ths morning he's doing good.

Penturner, would you want to live in Lemmon Valley? There are a couple houses out here for 80k or so on acre lots, but they need some work.
