Good morning to you too Sheryl! Dream away, it costs nothing and if only a fraction of our dreams come to fruition we'll have accomplished so much!

Elizabeth I love the look of the EEs especially. You are awesome for posting all these pics! I love looking at everyone's birds!

Speaking of posting pics... Ron where are some pics of my babies? Well any that are left anyway.

Glad you guys enjoyed the photos. I am just taken with the EE's. I'm so glad I decided to get some. I think they are so lovely. They are not taken with me, yet, though!

they always run from me. The friendliest ones so far are the BR's, BO's, SLW, and BA's. Once I start giving out treats, we'll see if the others warm up to me.

Sunny, I'm so excited that you get to start working on your dark egg Maran project!

I'm going to the NE upper corner, Jacksonville, Florida. I actually do not like it there. My whole family ended up moving there and my older son ended up being stationed there too so that's where I must go to see them all. It's way too hot, crowded and rainy for me as well. I do not do well in humidity and every time I went there I was in a hurricane. The plane was actually waiting on the tarmac for new flight information so we could fly over the Gulf and avoid a hurricane. So I was flying over the Gulf in a rocking and rolling plane when Katrina hit New Orleans. I tell them people over there I would take a Earthquake over a hurricane anyday and they actually laugh at me. Also, 2 years ago my DH and I drove our youngest sons truck to Florida while he was stationed in Georgia. We hit the heaviest snow we have ever seen, ice, had to take cover in a motel due to tornadoes hitting Missouri at the time and the heaviest rain I ever saw even with hurricanes. So I will never move there - ever!

Sunny, I love what you're doing! When I organize my eggs for sale, I make sure they have the rainbow of color in each...maybe it's the artist in me but egg color is my favorite part of gathering eggs!

Can't wait to see your progress.

Hi Golden Sparrow! Welcome to the Nevada thread!

You don't have to live in Nevada to be a part of this thread. I'll add you to the opening post now.

BTW, Cape Cod is one of my favorite songs to perform! I've always wanted to visit just because the song makes it sound so inviting!

I'm the same way! I love a huge variety of colors in my cartons! It just tickles me pink to see a rainbow of colors in my egg basket and I love the reactions I get from my customers too! You may be onto something, I am an artist as well so it may be a right brain thing.

I know Sunny, it's just so crazy. Now don't get me started on the bug bites I've gotten over there, you know I have virgin skin here and they love to bite me all over. Ugh! Chiggers really suck. Okay can't get me started!

BTW tell Dottie I am still waiting on an answer from the DMV. I forgot to ask when I was there so I sent them an email and the auto-responder said it can take up to 72 hours to get an answer to a question but that they usually get to them within 48 hours. If we can't move it in one piece I'm not sure what to do.

Oh my gosh, Sheryl, I am so never traveling with you!! Thats horrible luck, all that bad weather. I hope its nice and sunny when you get to Florida. Well, at least not a hirricane. I dont think the humidity can be helped though. What are chiggers?
Sunny, I'd like a couple keepers. I dont plan on selling chicks, so you dont need to worry about that, but youre totally right on the egg color thing. I'd like to try my hand at breeding, and I wouldnt incubate any light eggs. I asked because I always loved the idea of really dark eggs. I got some Marans from Ideal. I didnt expect perfectly dark eggs, but these werent dark at all. They did have some pretty spots though. Anyway, just saying, if you sell me some chicks, I'll be doing exactly the same thing.

I like Welsummers better than Marans, and Im thinking about trying to breed them back to dark eggs when I get my own place. But Marans are a close second, and on top of that, I have th opertunity to do it now instead of waiting an undeterminded amount of time. Hahaha, so thats my really long winded version of "Cool man!!"

I was really bummed today, one of my EE girls lays brown eggs aparently, talking about egg colors. I didnt know that was possible, but google says yes. I guess it makes sence since theyre like mixes or somthing. Eh, somthing new learned, right?
