Hi, Good luck in the show, Aubrey and Tyler! I'm excited to see what goes on at a poultry show. I think barnevelders are really pretty birds. that breed is on my list of wants some day.

Our coop is nice and stable now with the concrete blocks. I wish it hadn't shifted more than a foot closer to our tree and landed crooked but I will just have to let that go. The chicks are happy and content in there and don't seem to have any PTSD from the collapse

I did absolutely no work on the coop yesterday. Yes, there is more to do but it was a little cold and it felt nice to be able to bum around and run errands on a Saturday.

So far I have no clear signs that I have any roosters but we'll see what happens. I am fairly certain that the BR's are all pullets based on their coloring/pattern. Also all the EEs seem to be pullets based on coloring and combs. As for the australorps, BO, and welsummer, I have no clues on them. Nothing obvious to hint at rooster yet.

I think i may build them a bigger mini roost this afternoon. last night there were 8 of them crammed on the tiny chick roost I made them for the brooder. I have some closet doweling that I think will work well for them at this age.
have a good one,everyone!

Aubrey, I would love you to post a step by step of your experience your first time showing! I'm hoping my grandkids would be interested in showing some chickens but I have no experience.

Aubrey that is awesome that you are going to document your experience! Between you and Tyler this should be quite a learning experience for the rest of us.
