Nevadans?

Hey everyone!

I managed to hatch another rooster
sad.png
he's just starting to crow so I really need to find him a home ASAP. I'm near the old downtown area in Vegas and cannot keep a crowing rooster without getting into trouble!

So, just in case any of you NEED a rooster or know someone who does.... thot I'd let you all know before I put him on CraigsList. It's so hard to sell him to someone who might try to fight him or have him for dinner! He's half hand-raised... fairly tame and very lovable - besides being very beautiful! He looks like a Black Copper Maran but he did not come from a "copper" egg. So, I'm assuming he's a mix... with what? I don't know!

Kevin (from Overton/Logandale) - if you're reading this - this kid came from one of your eggs! Do you need another cool rooster??

I don't know how to post a pic here - I'll see if I can get a link to "photobucket" or something...

Here's a direct link (there are 3 pics)

OK Aubrey, I resemble that CA remark!

Welcome to BYC americanvalkyrie (love the name BTW) and you're welcome to visit us on the California thread, which BTW is also going to be AWESOME!

OK what can I do for her from here.

I have Lavender, Blue and Black Ameraucanas, getting white ones soon. Some nice young Olive Eggers, My FBCMs are very nice, but I had issues refreshing my stock this year, so have to do that asap, I also have Favs, but mine are bantams. Let's see......hmmmmm I have Welsummers, but I need a new roo, Black Sumatras, I also have bantam Wellies, OK anything else is bantam or Game. OH!!!!!!!! You might need some quail!!! Lionhead bunnies??? BTW EE's usually lay great. I have one, Big Bird and she's moulting like crazy and the one bird out there that hasn't stopped laying. I have some eggs in the incubator, cause I need more like her.

OK enough of that. So what did anyone go home with from the show? We have the big one coming up here in Stockton, so I think a bunch of you should come down and hang with us. Caravan? Bus? IDK, but it would be great to be able to meet our next door neighbors.

Aubrey I hope you find a nice cheap shed. So sorry you have to miss out on such a good deal this time. I can relate.

I totally agree about the ees. my two ees are my most reliable layers.

And I love the idea of a caravan to the stockton show! When is it? If anyone else is interested in going i would be more than delighted to see if anyone wanted to carpool! I dont have a van or an SUV or anything but my little ford focus is in awesome shape and she gets great mileage

Hi all,

I had a great time at the poultry show and really enjoyed meeting everyone. Congrats again Aubrey. Saw Mama on the winners table and she was all, "Of course I'm here. Where else would I be?"

Captain Jack is ruling the roost. The dog and cat are now his minions. He has his own bedroom and is sporting the latest leopard print chicken diaper. He has impecible taste (loves Lord of the Rings). Sat on the couch through the first movie (we both ate popcorn). Hops right into his box at bedtime. Tonight we watch Pirates of the Caribbean.

Interesting. My EEs don't lay anywhere near as reliably as my brown egg layers. Even though EEs make up a third of my flock I only get about 1/6th or less of bluish eggs!

I agree about the EE's too Ron, my Wyandottes & BR's do lay better than Sundae since Sundae would lay 2 in a row and take a break but the girls layed 6 in a row and then take a break but then again, my girls just started laying so it may change up. Monique layed just as well as the little ones and she's a FBCM/Orp mix.

If you decide you don't want them, I'll provide a good home. However, if they turn out to be roos, I'll have to rehome again.

well if its better for you then I can keep em until we know for certain

might take a few months though. they are buff too, i know some people are more interested in white

if there is a show quality buff hen i would like it because that is my favorite silkie color. The hothere person asked first so they have first dibs. are they bantum or standard?
