So does this mean I need to go walking everyday again like I used to?

I miss it but I get so cold now it's not even funny. I do have health problems and there isn't a lot someone can do about it in regards with the weight issue. I take medicines that make me gain the weight no matter what I do. I once could only have a tablespoon of peanut butter and 1/4 cup of applesauce a day just so I could have something in my stomach everyday and that was pushing it but if you looked at me I looked like I was so fat it isn't funny but in reality I'm not. My hips have no fat on them at all and yet my upper body looks like it's loaded with fat. It's actually the liver disease that makes my body look like it is and seem. Shoot, I can lose 10 lbs in less than a week and have it come back the next week or vice versa. Nothing I can do but walk everyday, I think I need to start again?

Ha ha ha! No I can honestly say "NO" to both of those. I did have an honest to goodness scientist come in to speak to my class once who worked at NASA and I have an awesome story about how he validated my theory on "Pluto" but that's as close as I came to an Astronaut. Oh and I have terrible animal allergies to cats and horses. Not cool at all, I know, but it's the truth. I keep thinking someday I am gonna write down every job I've ever had but it would be a daunting task. I'm just interested in sooo many things and I learn new stuff very quickly so I've just kinda tried new things most every time I had the chance too. I also get bored easily (ADHD) so I've not done a lot of the more normal jobs that most people have tried. Like I have noooo idea how to make a decent cup of coffee.

Don't worry I have spent plenty of time in jobs that weren't super interesting. I am great at learning new software and also very good with numbers so I spent many years at a desk, behind a computer, as well. I was also a pub owner. My ex and I owned a bar with another couple so I would have to handle the swing lunch crowd (from FMC) after I got off of work and mostly I handled the grill. I cooked so many burgers in such a short time that the grease would gather up on the over head range hood and drip into my hair almost the entire time I was cooking. Ahhh, memories! I should write a book. You'll have to publish it after I die though cause it might shock a few people. Course some wouldn't be surprised at all!

I'm sure there are quite a few of you out there that have, or have had, interesting jobs. I'd love to hear some of 'em! Like I found out that Genny used to work at Carnation and that's why she knows so much about livestock. She raised the baby calves among other things! How cool is that! Ron is a tech wizard! He's so quiet that I don't know a lot about his skills but that one story about how he got his nickname of "The Wizard" tells me there are a whole lotta good stories hiding there. I'd bet money that Peep-Show has some funny stories to tell about work. C'mon you all! Start spillin some of these great stories! Oh you do need to edit since BYC does have minors on this forum but tell those stories anyway! I'm sure you can edit without doing too much damage.

Okay here it goes!

I grew up in the fish business and let me tell ya, the language is actually really bad for kids but it taught me to be spot on all of the time because you never knew when someone would throw a fish at you or another person take a ling cod eyeball and set it on a wet fish glove and throw it in the minus 40 degree freezer for a bit and pull it out from behind them into your face and tell you "I've got my eye on you". You know I didn't even flinch, I took the glove out of his hand put it on the floor and popped that thing and said well now your eye is on the bottom of my foot!

Then dad and I would clean up the place once the drivers were gone and get home really fast and go fishing on the bay. We would get home and eat fish. We did this every Friday. I didn't graduate High School but I had to have an education so I was home schooled before there was home school. I had to read my sisters books and do all of the work they did and I was graded on it. I didn't care about having a degree because I only wanted to be married, have the 2.1 children and the house with the picket fence. I read cookbooks and how to get stains out and other stuff on how to be a good wife & mother. Then one night we were at my in-laws house. My husband, his sister, his brother in-law and his father were talking about what they had read in the WSJ. I looked to my left and my mother in-law was still talking about a recipe and what I should do with it and I just sorta lost it in my own mind. I went a bit crazy so to speak and applied at Wells Fargo Bank's headquarter's in Concord, California. They hired me without a degree and I loved it. I've been working off and on since but I'm not loyal on working as much anymore. I want to be home to do housework again, go to a Culinary School and get a degree in all sorts of different types of cooking. Then I want to open a deli in a sorta eclectic way. I want Italian, Southern and German recipes. I want the deli to be a place where no one cares what you look like or dress like, it's only about happy people. Grumpy people are not allowed in this deli, that's the part where we can refuse service.

Wow, that wasn't really that bad after all. I may actually do my dream someday or I may not but I'll always have my dream and it's good enough for me!

Goodnight everyone!

My dream job that I haven't done yet (well not all together anyway) is to open an Inn with extensive gardens where folks can hold events etc or just relax and wander around. I can just picture the Japanese gardens in a secluded area where folks can get messages in one area and meditate in another. The tea gardens must have a real tea room where the traditional art of tea can be shown and the significance of the ritual can be taught. The gardens are something I've been planning for awhile.

There will be different areas but above it all there will be a walking path so folks can look down on the vast gardens and it will be called the path of light. This is the memorial portion of the gardens and I want a shoe tree where folks can hang a pair of shoes from their loved ones that are gone and come visit and smile about all the things they did in those shoes. The path will have beautiful solar lights along the way that will create a stunning look at night. Gentle lights will reflect off of the pond at night. The pond must be large enough to row a boat or two across and will have a deck that juts out over the water with comfortable furnishings so folks feel free to snuggle in for long conversations.

The Inn portion will really just be a series of cabins or mini homes. Hopefully off the grid and green (the plans for these cabins are already drawn up). An Inn makes more money from the events than the rooms so this will not be the main focus. I also want to have a small theater on grounds where we can have holiday shows, even including a well acted and well made up cast for a Halloween haunted house. Everything has to be unique though. I don't just want a bunch of monsters chasing kids around, I want it to tell a story about halloween as well. I love to sing but I think creating costumes and sets would be a real blast! I'm ok with the idea of some outdoor performances as well to sing at but I want different groups throughout the year. The same music gets boring.

I would also love to have fundraisers there for the local folks. Like the traditional pancake breakfast for the local Fire Dept but instead I would have to have a crepe bar with lucious fruits and smears and serve my gourmet french toast instead of normal pancakes. I want a HUGE light show for the winter holidays done by various artists from the community and I want to hold farmers markets and art & wine festivals showcasing local talent and local foods. Animals that are native to the area can be kept on grounds to teach "history" of the area to visiting families. As well as my menagerie of animals that I will, of course, have to have. *sigh* Well maybe someday. I already have someone to take care of all the animals! I feel like if I keep planning for it that I have a better chance of it happening. So I keep reading and planning...

It makes Steve and I both happy to do more than just dream about it.

When I worked at the trucking company I got told so many weird things by truckers. I was very seriously considering publishing a book called "things truckers tell me". One time I was loading this guys truck and he stops my forklift, looks me dead in the eye and says "I bet you look pretty when you cry."
Not to mention the one guy who pulled me aside and asked why I wasn't a stripper because I do have "a pretty face and a so-so body."
Ahhhhh. Do not miss that job one bit.
