Nice hens! The boxes look good too, they are built almost exactly the same way as ours. is that a door in the back behind them?
I'm glad I went with 10x10. gives me plenty of space to work with. even so, I had to shorten one of the roosts since it was too close to the nest boxes. I think i'll add a diagonal roost to make sure I have enough roosting space for all of them.Quote:

i bet the buff orps fell left out cuase they are in none of the pics![]()
Yes, there's a door behind so we can gather eggs from the outside.
Well the last week has kicked a couple of projects into the next gear for me. We all went out and met Kathy (mythkat) today, well yesterday now. and helped her start her Hugle and an Asparagus bed. The Hugle is not so bad but the bed is arguing with us a little bit. So we will go back again this morning after letting is soak over night. She has a spot we can grow our tobacco that woudl not have worked better if I had measured it before drawing up my planting design. It will all be a lot of work but we expected that.
I have been putting a bug in Missy's ear the last couple of days about soap making so she has a student she just doesn't know it yet. Actually thank you Missy you have made this a lot simpler for us. We really worked hard last year to make or grow things for ourselves in order to reduce how much money it takes for us to live. The soap thing is sort of a little gift to ourselves for all the work we have done. I don' think it will save us much money if any but it will allow everyone to use some really nice soaps without the expense of buying them from the shops.
Basically several projects I have been working on for a year have suddenly been put back on the front burner all at once. A lot has come together this last week thanks to the people here on this forum.
It is now going on 1 a.m and I cant sleep so am trying to read until my eyes won't stay open.
