Oh I so agree! I think we are all born with talents that are artistic in nature. Whether it be writing or music or visual arts or drama or craftsman skills etc, etc. I also think it is vital to explore this side of ourselves since it is tied to a person's spiritual (psychological and emotional) growth. I love, love, love seeing everyone's artwork posted here! Even if I forget to tell you all how much I love it, I do!

Speaking of which I guess I should post some of my own stuff. So many super talented artists on this thread (Pam, Missy, Aubrey etc, etc.), not sure I want to.

yeah thats a really good green. Its funny, my ee mutt thing lays a beautiful blue egg and my half am lays a green one with white speckles. Molly's ggs seemed to have gotten a we bit darker today but it could have just been an egg from mama. I am soooo hoping i dont get ordinary eggs from these olive eggers. they are first gneration so who knows.

Hi Ron!

Got my first green egg today! Jose found it out in the run this afternoon.

Pretty! If you could guess, how many of them are laying now?

Now that the potatoes are ordered, my mind just got turned onto another possible project. I stumbled onto an article on worm composting. With all the vegetables we eat, even after we give the chickens what they would like, we still have waste. And the big barrel composters are still great for the eggshells, coop poop, lawn clippings, dead leaves, dryer lint... blah blah. My kids' yoga teacher says she knows someone who is or was looking to sell her vermicomposter. Hmmm. I just need 5 more acres, please.

Missy, we used to do an easy composter, but it looked horrible. It works great for the season, but I doubt worms would thrive in it. I mean you can try it if you want. Hmm. You take a large heavy duty trash bag and cut the bottom out, then put it inside a round tomato wire cage, and throw your excess into it, then tie it shut. Leave it in full sun and where the neighbors cant see it, and it composts great. Yea, I hope you like the idea? All this jujistu talk has gotten me nervous about you, see? lol.

I need to check in more than once a day, Im thinking. Im so excited about the chicks hatching!!! :D

Yes, I'm known to go off randomly and kick booties of people who don't give me good composting advice.

I had my husband make me two composters last year, out of black plastic feed barrels and pvc pipe. They work great, and hold 55 gallons each. Between June and October, both of them were full. It's amazing how much compostable material a household uses when you actually start stockpiling it instead of throwing it in the trash.
