Hey guys, wanna help me name my olive eggers? theyre my only birds without names and nothing is really sticking. Here they are.

chick 1 is black with some white and a pea comb. She looks just like baby did as a youngster so i am guessing she is going to look like a black copper am (all black with a green sheen) but with a pea. that white will most likely go away.



chick two is black with mossy brown coloring. She has a single comb. I dont think ive had a chick that looked like this before so im not certain how she will look all feathered out. These guys are about 8 weeks old now.

Aww, if Petey has babies, can you post pics on here? I bet they'd be hecka cute. Well, I mean anyone, and this is a very open invitation, can post pics of thier chicks whenever.
So I'm almost done creating the Fort Knox of the chicken world for my banties I got from stockton. It's everything-proof. Or so I'm hoping. My neighbor takes my chickens!!! She wont give them back and Im not about to get the cops involved into a chicken war, but seriously? remember me complaining about her last fall? Urg, I hate her. Aparently Ive got some tallented chickens. They unlatch thier cage and fly into her coop, or so she says. This summer we're moving the coop to the other side of the yard. but since my banty pair were so expensive, they get a new home now. :]

I can't believe that your neighbor has the GALL. OMG! This has always been a huge fear of mine!!! I don't let people from CL into my Poultry Yard because we don't have fences at all. I sell out of my Garage(the other side of the property) Unless I know the person. Good Grief! My best friend is an Animal Control officer(and Poultry Lover) so let me know if you want me to ask her about this Suspicious Stealing(find out if you have any repercussions) That is just un-ethical! I would invest in Metal Leg bands if these new birds start flying the coop. (This kinda thing really bothers me if you couldn't tell)

I would put them under lock and key. I use padlocks not because I'm worried about theft but they're very secure against raccoons, etc. Metal leg bands, like Julie suggested, is also a good idea. Take photos of your birds with their leg bands for proof, if needed later. the nerve of her.

I'd say Kalamata, but I'm claiming that one for my girl, when I get her.

Types of olives, copied and pasted from Wikipedia:

• Amfissa is an excellent quality Greek table olive grown in Amfissa, Central Greece near the oracle of Delphi.
• Arbequina is a small, brown olive grown in Aragon and Catalonia, Spain, good for eating and for oil.
• Barnea is a modern dual-purpose cultivar bred in Israel to be disease-resistant and to produce a generous crop. The oil has a strong flavour with a hint of green leaf. Barnea is widely grown in Israel and in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Australia and New Zealand.
• Bosana is the most common olive grown on Sardinia. It is used mostly for oils.
• Cornicabra, originating in Toledo, Spain, comprises about 12% of Spain's production. It is mainly used for oil.
• Empeltre, from Pedrola, Aragon, a medium-sized black olive grown in Spain. Especially in Aragon and the Balearic Islands, it is also dual-purpose.
