Nevadans?

Nope. Huevos is spelled with an H either kind you are talking about. Just double checked with Jose. It's the equivalent to "nuts" slang in english.
Oops must be a regional thing since my friend was corrected on this matter by a native. Anyway good to know. I prefer it when you let me know the correct way to say something... Like why did you let me get away with saying "Mal" when I meant to say "Malo"? IDK why I mess that one up all the time even though I know better! Please help me the next time I leave off the verb ending. Very bad habit!

OK do we have any crocheters here? I am hosting the next swap and have decided to do things a bit differently than they have been done during previous swaps. Pop over and let me know what'cha think! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/669661/new-kind-of-granny-square-swap
Thanks!

Yeah! I highly recommend this film. And if you get the DVD, make sure to watch all the bonus feature extras. Horses are just such natural emphatic healers that it's heartening that someone who got the gift from them is able to give it back....to both horses and people.

My husband is NOT a horse person having not grown up with critters, but thoroughly enjoyed the film. (Did I mention he's a counselor/therapist?) He's wiling to try having horses when we move, but only on the condition he gets some riding lessons so we can go riding together.

(And I will gladly farm that out to someone else having suffered from having an ex-spouse try to teach me to drive their manual transmission car.... There's not enough patience in the world to try anything like that again.) DH genuinely loves our dogs, though, so I'm sure horses are not a stretch. His main concern, though, is with riding getting his huevos squished. Sigh......

Bummer daaz on the meaties.... I hope it was early in the process so you didn't sink a fortune into feeding them yet. Having once lost 105 lbs. of meat birds to an unexpected heatwave, I can feel your pain. Short of having to contend with a flock of featherless birds, I think meaties can be pretty tricky to raise a batch without consequences. They either defib/stroke out, pop a tendon or cannot get out of their own way. When it came to process them, there was absolutely no remorse. Oh, and did anyone mention the copious amounts of stinky poo? What's up with that?

One of my favorite spinach dishes (besides quiche) is a simple sauteed spinach, done in butter (it doesn't take much to wilt and fry) a little garlic and, after, a shot of teriyaki or stirfry sauce. Topped with a poached egg. Yummmmm......

Okay I have a confession. Regarding consumption of processed foods we're guilty of copious amounts of BACON. *Somebody* (DH) would incorporate it into every meal, if he could. If I'm serving him a new dish that I question he'll enjoy, I pop a little bacon in there. I'm pretty sure if I could come up with a Cologne du Hormel I would be the most irresistable gal on earth.
When you're ready, (or anyone else) we have two beautiful, kind and well mannered, foundation bred gentlemen that we bred and raised on our own barn. They each have several months training by a trainer from Spain. They're about 12 and were born in my lap! One is a Smokey Buckskin the other a line back dun. We can't ride with our backs and the feed is killing us. If I could find them a good home, as hard as it would be they would love to be handled more.

Sunny, I crochet but really only do it in the wintertime or when I'm injured. Basically, when it's feasible to spend that much time sitting down. I haven't watched a movie since February! Right now I have a bag of tulle strips that I take with me to make a few potscrubbers when I'm sitting and waiting for something, but have only made 1 scrubber in 2 months.

Thanks for the offer, but we're still seemingly eons away from moving (although I anticipate movement withing the next couple of years). And, unfortunately, with my HOA here being so intolerant of any sort of backyard critter, I doubt I could sneak in a couple of horses. (I'm having a little fantasy going in my head now, though, on how I might attempt it...)

Agreed on the expenses. I think it should be "Horse *keeping* is a rich man's sport" Remembering the days back on the ranch, I am agape at the expenses. Man, if I had my horses' shoe budget I would be stylin'!

OK in order... My Hubby was reading over my shoulder (cause I was laughing out loud at your story) and he said to tell your Hubby to wear tight jeans and "tuck everything up" or he'll be turning yellow and green from the pain before he goes unconcious! lol He also said you learn real fast to keep the stirrups high enough so you can raise yourself above the saddle a little when the going gets rough. He did say a guy only makes that mistake once though!!! hahaha!!!!!

So TRUE! I let my DH read this posting and, yes, pre-me he has been on a horse only one time and it was *most* unpleasant. As he said, "Somebody just told me to get on the horse and I didn't know what I was getting myself into." His solution to that was not to get onto a horse again. Hopefully we can rectify the situation in the future.....

i'm about to clean out my coop. It's been a little overdue. But now I'm just going to get out there and do it! Oh, and my broody is broody no more! Yay! i took out all the ceramic eggs the other day and took her out of the box and probably the next day she didn't go back in the box.

No biggie and i guess some people do spell it differently somewhere else. and I make mistakes in spanish grammar often myself. sometimes Mal is the correct way depending on the context. (I didn't notice when you said it. ) for example,"me siento muy mal" is the correct way to say when you aren't feeling well. if you say you're feeling "malo" that means you're bad, as in evil.
