Oh no Mama! Are you thinking round worms? Have you seen any in her droppings? I'm asking because wazine only kills round worms. Are you having fly issues? If see was eating maggots it's possible she has gapeworm. You can't always tell if they have it because some birds will still eat and drink unless they have a heavy infestation and if they do it can kill them fast. idk just an idea but at this stage it's so hard to tell what it can be.

Missy, you can treat ducks with wazine so if you want to use it you can. When I worm I give an all around de-wormer though. Feed World has the Ivermectin Gold which kills every worm out there and ducks take it as well.

Not gapeworm. That ones a pretty obvious one as it affects the trachea and the birds breathing

Ivermectin is a good one to use for the second time around. I got all of my worming info from Dawg who in my opinion is the most knowledgable person on this site when it comes to any health issues. Ivermectin was one of the ones he suggested but he emphasized using a DIFFERENT treatment the second time around than the first

Got home and called her name. She seemed responsive and even stood up when she heard me. She fought me when I fed her, i hope thats a good sign...

I dug through the BM that she had earlier today, it had a roundworm in it. I hope hope hope that is a good thing, but i am worried that i didnt find more. I really want to give her wazine. I know I have to fight that urge! Blended up a yogurt/baby food/ egg yolk mash. She still wont touch solid food. Tonight is the big test. Aggie went the night after we found her like this.

That works for us! We aren't that picky. We can find something we like just about anywhere.
Very sad news tonight. I think tomorrow morning I will be having to bury my darling Mama. (Mama can be seen on the first page of this thread!)

She is going through the same thing Agnes went through before she died last year. I went in to lock up the girls and there she was all fluffed up standing in the middle of the coop. Very unusual especially since she was letting me pet her and stroke her head. She will normally not let me near her. I knew as soon as i realized that she wasnt even acting scared that she had what aggie had. I picked her up an, yep, not a shred of meat on her poor bones.

I should have seen it coming, i should have known, but the weight loss is just so dang rapid. Not to mention she just finished being sick and is dealing with molt too. Poor poor baby. She was sleeping on the floor two nights ago and i thought it was odd so i scooped her up and put her on the perch. I didnt notice any unusual weight loss at that time.

Ive done what I can do ATM. All I have in the house is a dog and cat roundworm de-wormer. I gave her 1/4 tsp as recommended for cats and dogs under 3 lbs. I am not hopefull. What ever it is took Aggie in less than 24 hrs of her showing symptoms. I dont know what to do. I wont be able to force feed her. Agnes wouldnt even touch food of any kind in her last hours. I feel like i could maybe give some poly-vi-sol to put some nutrients into her body. What do you guys think? what would you do?

Im gonna have Mark dig a hole in the yard tonight in case I need to bury her in the morning. This is just terribly sad, Mama is very near and dear to my heart. VERY.
NO!!!!!

Ok, anyone else notice the creepy links to adds that byc inserts into our posts now? something in my post yesterday became a link ad and in aubrey's, "weight loss" has become a link.
UGH! I haven't noticed them but I have a lot of the graphics stuff like that turned off. I think you have to have a Golden Feather membership though to do that.
