I had a chick bond with me... His name is Chase. I a little different story though. A coon came in and took out all but 4 of my chickens. I had 2 hens with chicks and they were all gone. Or so I thought... I found Chase 2 days later in the pig pen. My husband and I had to CHASE him around to catch him. I put him in the coop with the others, he was about 4 weeks old. the coon had taken his tail feathers and I actually thought he was a hen for a short time. But everytime I went down to the coop, he would RUN to me and get to my shoulder. (usually by me picking him up ) and would ride there while I did chores. 2x a day and a few times just to hang out with him. He would peep like crazy when I left. But he turned into a beautiful rooster, that treats his girls good and has never tried to attack me. He is not cuddly anymore, but takes treats very nicely from my hand. He is a great guy

Along with the turkey feather duster, put a mirror in the brooder. It will give the chick some "friends" to talk to. I ended up with some solo duck hatches and this kept the babies from being so needy.

LOL!!!So sorry...but I am laughing! I live with a 10 week old chicken in my house. I thought I was the only nut. I also have two daughters helping me. When she was younger, we took turns wearing her around our neck. We took a hat, safety pinned them to the sides, put warmer pads in the hat with a rag over it and she would snuggle up in it. We took turns wearing it and feeding and watering her. I have a small dog crate in the house that we put her in and had a heat lamp shining on it. She is a house chicken. Her poop has gotten huge so she does not come out and play as much. When we bring her outside to play with the others...she gets beat on. She constantly runs behind us chirping loudly when we are out of site. I also have a docile dog that we would set her on when she was younger for warmth. It has been a hoot! I am wondering if I will ever get her in the flock! Keep her warm and she will love you!! Wish you the best.
