I name my chickens after my favorite book characters. So I've got Watson, Karina, Erak, Mythril, Blaze, Shadow, Juliette, and this other one not from a book I've named Darkthing.

I've never been to a professional show. I'd really like to. I was reading the American Standard of Perfection and it doesn't say anything about the number of legs a given breed must have. At a 4-H show, there was this one legged pigeon that got red, because the judge thought pigeons were supposed to have two legs, but the ASP doesn't say anything about that, so maybe he should have gotten blue.

Never have I ever hand-plucked a bird (or any kind other manner of plucking -- my birds are pets, not food!).
