Never seen *this* reason for shavings...

I'm back to shavings in my coop. Jeez. Had switched to sand and was very happy with how dry and odorfree the coop was staying. The sand performed as advertised : ) by experienced BYC'ers. But who knew it would bring out the neurotic obsessive compulsive in an otherwise fairly well adjusted person?!! Its so easy to scoop the poop from sand. So at first I just went out in the morning and scooped under the roost. How handy! How easy! Then I started scooping the whole coop. Next thing ya know I'm going out multiple times to scoop. Squatting down to make sure I got ALL the poop....
Decided I was making myself nuts and it could only get worse, so put a load of shavings on top of the sand and am once again very happy with NOT scooping poop in my coop. Holy cow. I could have ended up like, living out there with my little cat box scooper.....

That is to funny? I can so relate to this. Plus for me I think the inside of my house is going to pot.

I can relate to a little OCD; I spend it in my moss gardens "rice picking " weeds. I could see myself with a little rake in the coop making Zen designs in the sand.
