Never turn your back

Thank you - I love the chicks, but my AB, Gracie, is my heart.

My boxer sniffs them so hard it ruffles their feathers! LOL I only let him sniff while I'm holding them, but I had a 5 weeker tolerate the sniffing for about 5 minutes until she pecked him in the nostril. I certainly wouldn't ever turn my back on mine. After he's done sniffing he'll gently raise a lip and "brush" it on the chicken....like he knows he's not allowed to but he just has to let part of it touch inside his mouth. My coop will certainly be dog proof

Chick TV is very popular at our house. The 3 kitty girls sit on the table when Mama is not looking; it gives them ringside seats to all the action.

Tess (Jello Sheriff) watches them through the window to enclosed porch where their brooder sits.

My beagle is scared of my chicks but as soon as they move away he cleans up the poop. So funny to watch my 20 pound beagle run from my 2 28oz white giant chicks.

Unfortunately I have to keep my dogs away because they think the chickens look like a nice snack. *Sigh* I wish they would just be nice, but I don't trust them at all.

Our dog Amber hasn't met the chicks yet, they're still pretty fiercely protected by their mama, but she loves running through the flock outside. No harm or ill will, just seems to give her a giggle (if dogs can giggle). She does know to stay near me when the roo gets a little fiesty, and will come and sit near me when I"m up by the coop so Rex stays away. Funny part about that is he's the one that's tried to attack her, but he still won't come near me if she's sitting there!
