Thanks- I learned now do just order a lot of hens- although I feel bad for the roosters! Wouldn't mind them but stupid ordinance- need two acres, only have 1. Eventually we will move and then we can enjoy that beautiful "cock a doodle doo!"

I know how you feel. For the past two or more decades I've only ordered pullets. I always get a cockerel or two in them anyway, unless it's a Sex Link order. I also decline the free "surprise" or "mystery" chick that some hatcheries offer with an order as they almost always turn out to be cockerels.

Yes that is what happens when an incubator is put into the equation and they are very time consuming
