New and learning!

Hey, I’m a nurse and mom of 3, and we impulsively picked up 6 newborn chicks to raise in our backyard in New Jersey. I had a Rhode Island Red rooster growing up that randomly arrived at our house one day. He was the sweetest thing, adored all the kids in the neighborhood but hated adult men for some reason. My son hatched chicks in school and fell in love, so off we went to go find our own to raise. Turned into a project but my kids love these chickens and I’m learning little by little how to protect and raise these guys. I bought an Omlet Cube and run, and they quickly called it home. I live right next to the woods and have neighbors that hopefully don’t hate me! It’s been an experience and I’m on this site learning more and more trying to be a good chicken lady.
