Hi everyone My husband and i just got chickens for the first time back at the beginning of June. we have been having so much fun learning how to raise them and caring for them. We have 5 red sex links that we purchased at our local feed store. WE turned our shed into a beautiful chicken coop with insulation as we have extremely cold winters here. We can get winters as cold as below 40 degrees Celsius! YIKESS right!
of course i have many questions as a beginner with chicks / chickens but one of my biggest questions is... one of our chickens looks much bigger and more developed than the others on her head and we are wondering if poor buttercup is a she or a he.
She has been bigger and more developed than the others for a few weeks now. I did read lots of information on this site and it goes back and forth on similar questions. Some say to check for spurs or talons, some others say the feathers etc.. With us being so new it's a little overwhelming as we are not getting an answer. Can someone help. Thank you.
