I don't know much about chicken illnesses, but if you can get a few drops of Nutridrench or even sugar water into her beak it might give her the energy to overcome her shipping stress.

I read to put food wrap on top of brooder for easy cleaning of poop. Well, my baby chick somehow got stuck to the sticky side. Hubby figured when he came in to pick her/him up.

Those wouldn't do the job. Sugar would provide easy energy for a stressed chick.

Exactly right. I use honey, but it has to be a form of real sugar. It isn't the sweet taste that gets them going

Both of my orders arrived today; yay!!! Now they may grow up together. Here's the breakdown:

4 Bielefelders - one cockarel; four pullets
6 Niederrheiners - straight run (I must hurry up and wait . . . A G A I N to know the whosawhatsit!

All arrived safely; no casualties.

Oh, and hubby says there was an extra bird from M. McMurray. I put them all in the brooder before figuring out who is who. I DO know two of the chicks that look like chipmunks are Bielefelder girls. The cockeral is a very light yellow bird from what I recall when I peeked inside while at the post office.

The thing is, the Niederrheiners are also yellow and light. Oy vey,gonna be fun figuring this out.

Ia m hereby writing, this is my LAST order for a while (due to coop space even though they will eventually be free rangers). For real, it is . . . my last chicks purchase. Now, I want to simply get to know them and vice versa and learn to properly care of them all.

Wonder what the mystery bird is though
