1st pic is the back of the chick in #2. I have two that look almost the exact same with those stripes. Colors are a little different. Last two have feathers down their legs. The one before them is a mix of golden, light yellow and grey.
One more question. The chick in the third pic seems to sleep more than the others. Is that normal?
all the clean legged ones look like old English games or dutch bantams the first feathered legged one is a partridge cochin and the 2nd is a porcelain d'uccle it has a beard
They all look pretty small (unless you're hands are small). I'd guess they're probably bantams. But they could be standard chicks, hard yo tell. But I agree, I'm seeing Old English, a Cochin and a porcelain D'uccle. D'uccles are a true bantam (no standards in that size, I believe), which leads me to believe all of the chicks are itty bitties
Well, my bantams (and I have Silkies, not known for production at all) are great little layers. They give me about 3-5 eggs each a week. Which is pretty good for an ornamental breed, in my opinion. And those little OEGBs and the Cochin will hatch eggs and be the best little mommas, so if you already have a standard flock you can replenish your layers every year without going to the store!
