Hi,
I’m completely new to incubating and hatching eggs.
I incubated 6 Silkie eggs 7 days ago and last night I candled them all.
I’d be really grateful if you could tell me if any of the eggs look fertilised. With the ones that don’t do I take them out or leave them for a while? Thanks for all your help in advance!

Thank you. 😊
So do you mean the 2 red ones or also the ones with like a yolk in?
I think the one with lots of dots maybe infertile but not sure about the others!

Well, from what I can see, the two red ones are the only ones with an embryo and veins. The rest don't look like they have developed. I could be wrong. I would wait until someone more experienced replies before you throw any out. Good luck with the rest of the incubation, I hope some hatch!
The red one with lots of dots looks like it is fertile. When I say 'red' I mean the darker two.

I think number 1 could be developing - there's a faint circle within the yolk. It's more obvious from a distance than close up. Number 5 may be the same.

Number 4 and 6 are definitely developing. Leave them all in until day 10 when it will be more obvious. Make sure you rearrange where the eggs are sitting inside the incubator as there are always warmer and colder spots so rearranging them ensures those differences are evened out.

Let us know how they are looking in a few more days. :fl

Yes I thought the same thing 🙁. I really hope those 2 grow

Thank you, that’s good to know.
I really hope they do develop!

Our balut vendors are expert when it comes to lighting eggs, they check if its the right days for it to be fertilized as balut eggs,

Hello,
So I just candled my eggs again day 11.
There are 3 I don’t think anything is in there, I cannot see any veins etc.
2 I can see the darkness, veins and movement but one looks like the air cell is at the bottom. Is this normal??
should I take the eggs out that have changed?
I’ve attached the photos of the eggs I’m unsure about and 2 of the ones of the eggs that look like they are developing.
Any advice is much appreciated 😊

I took 2 videos but can’t upload them so I’ve tried to screenshot the one with the clear bit inside the egg.
