Update on my girls: New pictures on my page

https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=38106

All of them are so sweet, but little Ester has stolen my heart.

I can't believe how cute these little girls are! I got my phone call at 6:20 this morning. My Pet Chicken did a great job packing them. Paying the shipping cost was a drag, but the chicks arrived happy and healthy. I can’t believe how active and funny they are. I am so happy I have time to just sit and watch them.

We have an Australorp (Louise)- my 10 year olds choice, two Easter Eggers (Ester and Bonnie... get it? Like Easter Bunny) – my 8 year olds choice, A Silver Laced Wyandotte (Charlotte), and a packing peanut Red Star sex-link (Alice).

Question… My two little EE have really puffy checks compared to the others. Does this translate into muffs/beards/whatevers later on? Both of mine are fairly dark. One has more distinct markings on her back. The other is very rich reddish brown. I can’t wait to see what they look like… Any guesses?

What great pics! Many congrats on their safe arrival and cuteness. Dont you just love the little nest they came in? Can I ask what kind of setup you made, or camera, to get such great pics?

I have the brooder set up in an extra bedroom in the basement - short term. I just threw a black t-shirt on the bed with a pillow behind it. We have a really nice digital camera (Nikon D300) which gets all the credit. I just point and shoot.

I was amazed at how fast these little buggers are!

Those really are excellent pictures!

Track them as they grow with the black background -- they'd be excellent additions to the breeds pages here.

Congratulations on your new chicks.

Usually packing peanuts are male so you may have to change Alice's name.

I actually picked her and had her sexed and all, but I was originally not planning on five, so she's not a true packing peanut, just our little reject

Your chick are precious and your pics are very good.
