New Babies from McMurray :)

Welp received my babies this morning
I have zero clue what kind they are but plan on doing some research so that I can figure it out.

When we opened the box they all seemed fine, I got them out one by one and gave them a drop of Nutra Drench and then dipped their little beeks in the water. They started eating and drinking. Temp was around 93 so I think that is ok. But by the time they had been in there 10 or so min I noticed one kinda acting drunk. And alittle bit later noticed another one kinda laying its head down :S so I am not sure if all of them are going to make it and it breaks my heart..

They did send an extra chick so that was nice of them.

Anyways YAY here we go!

They are under red light so its alittle hard to tell colors But there is a great mixture, some look like baby quial

I didn't get mine online; but from a local feed store. They were 2-3 days old and when i brought them home they acted like your describing. Standing there swaying back and forth and laying down. I think they were just super tired from there big trip. After a little while-12 to 24 hrs-they perked up though. Aren't they so much fun!

Omg yes that is EXACTLY what one or two of them was doing when I finally had to leave for work! I am so glad you posted this because I was worried I was going to come home to a few lost.

I am trying really hard to look online and find something that looks close to what they look like but so far I can't seem to find any haha Guess they will just be mystery breed for a while longer ! Of course I didn't have time to count toes or anything yet.

There were several that were brown with dark/black stripes that looked like baby quial to me.
Two that were black, one with black legs even
1-2 that were grey
Some red ones that I am just totally guessing will be Rhode Island Reds.
2 that were white

I will spend more time after work trying to pick out differences between them

I got new chicks last Monday from McMurray. I am furious. One dead in box..ok that happens. but over the next 4 days I lost 8! Half my order I have raised many new chicks and I have never lost them and now lost half of them. I emailed but have yet to hear back from mcMurrray. They had food, water, sand and warmth. Clean brooder box etc. Again, I have done this each year. Hope all is well with your little flock.

Ekkk! That is no good! I am hoping my hsuband wakes up soon to check on them (he works nights)! I have heard their customer service is really good but hope that I don't have to experience it myself!

Welp my hubby just got up and checked on them...they are ALL still alive YAYY!! Little drunky made it!

I also had him make me a small waterer last night with a nipple and put it in there thinking it might take them a while to figure it out.. NOPE he said it was EMPTY and he had to put more water in!! Smart little guys! They are doing wonderful! I can't wait for the kids to see them!

I received 26 chicken including the free one from McMurray and all are doing great. The chicken are 2 weeks old now.
MamaAB hopefully your chicken will thrive for you too.
I already have a flock going on 3 years. However, this is my first time ordering from McMurray. So far I am very happy with the chicken they sent me.

And the rare chick is a black Cochin standard size. His name is Zino cus I am positive he is a male. The other 25 are supposed to be all females.

I need to do some serious work because I for the life of me can't figure out from the pics I can see on their website what breeds mine will be ah well I am going to focus on getting them all to live and be happy and then I can worry about what kind they are.

What does your black Cochin look like? I have a little black one that has black legs I think it is soooo cute

Zino is mostly black with yellow fluff underneath. His legs are feathered and light colored.
I am at work so am not able to post picks till I get home.
