I totally understand your worries, but I never had a problem with that (of course I am not saying it is impossible). Maybe less shavings and some paper kitchen towels underneath?

Im no help b/c my reds are 3 weeks older than my new bantams and are in seperate brooders.. But I had to say your babies are ADORABLE!

I've been watching them closely, and it seems like it is more playing with the bedding then eating it since they are still going to the feeder to eat.
