New Back Yard Farmer.. Forced Rescue!

Pics
Was given 2 more eggs today one of them was also grey. Hard to get the black one to stay standing still so none of the photos I took were clear. Will try again later on.

I did fry up 6 of the eggs last night they were very yummy they seem to cook way faster the a store bought chicken egg, white were bright and yolks thick and tasty..

The shells are noticeably harder to crack they seem to have a membrane on the inside of the egg except for the grey/brown one it cracked easily was rather fragile.

Yes all that is normal for duck eggs. Hard shell, whites cook faster because more protein and the yellow to white ratio is larger than chicken. My black Swedish would lay eggs with a black/grey coating you could scrape off. The longer between lays the darker the egg. If she laid every day for a week or so they would be white.

Best of the bunch but still Bad Photos..

Ignore the other swimming they have a much larger area 5 X 3 X 2 to swim once a day..

Black one seems to always drink and swim 1st! It is Hard to get photo standing as it runs for the house! Not sure of ducks have a pecking order? But she is alway 1t for treats, drink and swim. But she was lame when we got her.. could barley walk!

My goal b the end of the month is put a small run to their larger pool and water cup system to help keep the caged run dry.

Monday, I will have almost a week off an hoping for no rain/snow!!!

Was getting good eggs, all of a sudden just 1 only change we stopped feeding them meal worms = 1 egg a day 2 days after feeding meal worms again = 2-3 eggs a day..

The feed is 20% Protine All Flock from Coastal? Any Recommendations or a Protein Supplement? They Also Love the Oyster Shells we been giving them no more grey eggs!

We ran out and had to find best price and source? We had a few lbs of dried in storage from kids pet that we gave them them daily after a week they started producing eggs.

Here is a Photo from mother in law of them in July 2018.. I am really not sure if the white is a peaking or a layer. The receipt from beeder is illegible White ~~~~~, K~~~ ~~bell, B~~~~ ~~ER.. he sells starters both White Layers from Metzer Farms and Pekings From a Local hatchery.. but no record of what was sold just poorly written scribbles that have been contaminated.

For Sure
