New bag of feed has worms! Is this normal?

No grower food is not the same as chick starter. Grower finisher if what you can give them when they a litttle older. You know I bought 2 bags of Flock Raiser last month and they don't normally have it in stock my livestock store orders it special for me as it is higher and most people don't want to pay $15 a bag around here. Also get southern states grower/finisher and mix it 50 / 50 for my older hens. The bags of FR had little black bugs in not one but both bags. My livestock store let me keep them since I had already poured them in my bins. I just took them the bags back. They ordered 2 more bags and they came in the same way, 3rd time is a charm. Turns out the food had expired but wasn't going to harm my girls and the bugs were extra protein. But worms definitely need to take them back.

It sounds like pantry moth caterpillars. I get them in my chick starter too and there are webs through it. For all the nutrition that the rob from the feed, they probably return it on the form of protein and nutrition, if the chicks eat the caterpillars.
