He has full spurs, what's a tie cord, yes, it's just trailing behind him, but it's hafl the length now than it was this morning lol, I think he got it stuck and ripped it in half.

Put him over all the girls hatch a few of each and then you will know what you like best.!!!

Right now he's over 2 leghorns, 1 white ee, 1 buff naked neck, 2 buttercups, and an arstrolorpe.

Getting an incubator this week, maybe I'll just hatch all these yard mutts now and see what we get.

Buff NN! That could be some pretty girls, and the NN cross should give better sized eggs. My BA girls are so petite and pretty, 7months old and laying regularly, but it seems that all they lay are pullet sized eggs and they have been laying a couple months now. My NN are laying large eggs now. He is such a big boy.

A tie cord is a string that's tied to a roosters leg and then pegged into the ground. They are used to keep rooster separate without having to build a ton of pens.

Farmer Dan, I'd take him off your hands! I'd love to have him. I can deal with him, too.

I have several beautiful and kind roosters to choose from if you want another.

I'm not that far from you . . .

Stunning boy!

I would defiantly give him a chance to reform his behavior.

You mentioned he'd been left behind by his old owners and then not fed, no hens etc. He might simply need some kindness and firm handling to turn into a well behaved boy.

I bought a roo who'd not been handled and did strike at me and even bit me hard in the first few days I had him. Now he has realized I bring food and treats and I handle him gently but firmly and he's a good boy. He'd rather I didn't handle him and that's ok but I can pick him up and inspect him if I need to without him being nasty.

Good luck with your boy, he's to pretty to go in the pot.

Stop! Stop! Stop encouraging the farmer. He already has a solution: give the bird to me! The roo can make babies with my andalusian hen . . .

What roosters do you have to trade? I'm mostly worried for the neighbors children. The chickens go hang out in their yard, and they love the birds, the crow, everything, but I'm worried if he attacks them, then it could hurt the carefully crafted situation I have for free ranging my chickens all over my little suburb.

A particularly nice rooster could be good.

OTOH, the DW does really like the feathers and will be sad to miss being able to wear him on her head.
