For in a pinch, you could look around for a used dog house to put in there. Check Marketplace (Facebook) as we just were looking for one for a duck house and found one of several. Provided the weather is okay for the little ones, they'd go in there at night when they're a few weeks old and be fine. I'd sanitize it first though.

The pen might be okay, but not going to keep predators out, so we'd put 1/2" hardware cloth around at least as high as 3' but the whole way if you can. This will sturdy it up as well.

i am laminating 1 inch chicken wire 1 1/2 foot around the bottom , it was on hand ,i do custom work why i am so slow ,detail work what with all the doors that thing has the pens are pretty sturdy wire , 1 1/2 gaps ,they provided plastic zip ties to do joining , i am using alumina wire , so far i like these little pens , seem sturdy , 40 inch segments , small and light enough for an old man to move alone , 80 inch has 2 segs , 120 inch has 3 segs, what predator , keep the hawks and the eagles out ,i had a golden eagle snatch a yard chicken a few years back , and a coyote grabbed a slow hen during the day , the foxs ,the stoats , weasels, my cats , the panther i saw come through , racoon , snakes ? the neighbors dogs the bear been seen in the woods hereabouts
have PTSD ,from life, fear lots things .. the world consists of the quick and the dead , and the lucky . i count myself with the lucky
i have a great big ammunition box thanks to ASP 101ST AASLT , 5th Grp, and 160th , a nice cabin for the birds , lots material on the property , and a tractor supply just down the road , its just the doing of it and one of my fears is of the market place .. and weary

memorial day , remembrance day , we remember the dead , put little flags on grave plots , very nice and thoughtful, i challenge you to remember those who survived , old and alone , suffering survivors remorse , some wander the streets homeless , mumbling to themselves , excuse me , i ramble , mumbling to myself ..

this is a very good project for me , it has caused me to get up out the bed and leave the dreamtime . i see quite the exposed portion of this little bird now , only one of six Pippin , exposed skin , pin feathers respiration and heart beat , i hope he calls to his cousins , still in the shell , Pip Pip Pip , join me in life..

i expect this little life to be out of the shell by dawn , go from pippin to peeper ,
sure do hope to get 3 or 4 to hatch , so they will not be alone .
ty for listening

day 27 incubator and so ends my long tedious introductory string .
lessons learned.
BYC is very welcoming and friendly place with good advice
a novice can run a new incubator by the numbers
shipped in hatching eggs are a chancy thing , one egg of six hatched
such a lonely little bird
i think i will open a string in pheasants , My lonely little bird
then one in PeaFowl when those eggs arrive, if they do

If you're serious, here's how:

To change it:

1) Make sure the name you want is available by doing a search for the username you want. Type your choice in the general search box and click search, then look for any "User" results and click on that. This will show any names that are the same or similar. If no "Users" come up, the name is not taken.
2) Make sure the name is one you will stick with.
3) Contact @DuckLady with the username you want
4) Once your name is changed it is a good idea to post a note in your signature or elsewhere to let people know... this is especially needed for members that have been here a long time.
5) Premium Feather Members (PFMs) can change their own usernames once a year.
Note: Usernames must be 4-15 characters, including spaces, and should contain only alphanumeric characters and single spaces between words.
