Oh, I forgot one! This is really more Hector, but take a look at poor Bruno upper left. That darn Hector, the little tyrant! LOL.

In my little flock of 8, my barred rock hen is queen and my light Brahma pullet looks like this often! My 3 little pullets work very hard to keep my barred rock from noticing them! Lol

Yeah, they are rarely way down in pecking order, those BRs, but mine have always been very friendly and personable with only a couple of exceptions.

I'm glad the BRs and the Brahmas are in separate pens in the barn now since I have to leave them locked in all day tomorrow to travel 3 hrs south for DH's emergency surgery. I hate leaving them but it should be not very hot tomorrow, thankfully. If they were in the same pen, I bet the Brahmas would not eat much all day long from being scared of Hector.

I have another Bruno story. Today, they were let out with the Old Hens group, first time. Figured they couldn't hurt any of them and really, would be too afraid to try, plus, they are big enough to get away from the big old gals. There are 8 hens in that group, though Amanda doesn't leave the pen unless we carry her outside. Bruno milled around for awhile, then, he decided to approach one of the hens and flare up. Guess which one? Caroline, my oldest hen. Also, my only Brahma hen. Well, she showed him he was still a baby then walked around griping out loud about it for 5 minutes. Then, he tried it again with the same lack of success. My baby is getting to be a real chicken now, it seems. He won't buck Hector but he'll try to face off with an 8 lb adult hen? Silly boy. I can't wait until he crows. I hope it turns out to be a deep one like Suede's was.

Daisy, my br hen is most definitely the most personable of my original girls. Sparkle the brahma has replaced her though as lap chicken

(Can you tell my 3 year old helped pick out names, lol)
