New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Shy but he has a cute fanny

They are the sweetest babies. The BRs are smart and super curious and independent and dominant. The Brahmas are just big, lovable, shy goofballs. But, Hector better watch out! The big Brahma boy is going to outgrow him and might get some confidence soon.

The group is 8 weeks old. I'm thinking the lightest blue partridge might be very slow developing cockerel, mainly because of the comb, but what do you folks think now? The wattles are not at all pink, no color in them and unlike the darker blue partridge male, no shiny orange shoulder feathers, not really. @junebuggena , @Sjisty

In front is the one making me crazy.

Again, same chick by the gate.

His/her wing plumage almost appears barred.

I like this darker blue cockerel a lot.

The lighter partridge pullet.

That dark boy is lovely. And i do like the darker blue boy, interesting markings.
Me, too, Mary. I like the light blue one, but if that is a cockerel, he has developed so slowly that the Brahma experts will most likely say that's not the best trait to propagate. Bruno is so huge and round and he will definitely be staying. My only real decision at this point is whether to keep a 2nd male (probably a good idea, just in case) and if so, which one. I do really love the darker blue boy, too. He is pretty wide, but none of the males were as huge and fast-developing as Bruno.

Exactly! So, Bruno and his brother will reign over the pretty pullets. If anyone watches the TV series about Mary Queen of Scots called Reign, you know the character Bash, short for Sebastian, half brother of King Francis. He's a hunky guy so I think maybe I'll just call the darker blue partridge cockerel "Bash". Short and sweet.

For those who don't watch it, here you go: http://reign-cw.wikia.com/wiki/Sebastian
