Welcome :welcome Glad you decided to join us :thumbsup I had brooder in a spare room, had tarp over the furniture and on the floor knowing how dusty it gets. On nice days I took the chicks outside in a wire type enclosure but they were about 2-3 weeks old at that time. You need to provide access to chick grit as soon as you give them anything but chick starter. I only use electrolytes in the water for a few days, then plain water (unless there’s a special needs chick) I suggest that you check every chick for pasty butt when they arrive, dip their little beaks in water and show them where the food is (peck at it with your finger) Check bums a couple of times daily for the first week or two, if pasty butt occurs you want to catch it early! Good luck with your chicks :jumpy
