17 chicks, 2 weeks old. We've kicked them out of the house into the garage! Whew! So happy to have the little fluff-butts out of the bathroom! The first week was ok, and helpful as we could keep a good and frequent eye on them (particularly the Dark Brown Leghorns which seemed prone to mild cases of pasty butt the first week). The second week brought more smell and dust. I knew 2 weeks was going to be about max time inside, and I was right!

Since these are first batch - ever - of chicks for us, the coop isn't built yet (we have another area to put them in few weeks if coop is not done), but when it is, I'm pretty sure all future batches of chicks will be put there after 1 week of close supervision.

Old Digs ( large jacuzzi tub 4.5' x 2.5') lined with plastic and paper and pine shavings.

And New Digs with Chicks added:
There are 17 of them, but many are hiding under the heat plate:

Of course, I need to thank my spouse for building this to my specifications! He's so sweet and handy! The 11yo helped too, and learned a few things while helping to build it!
