Dad is a great guy, that is for sure! He owns a construction company. Although he doesn't work out in the field anymore, he still does the office stuff. So for his birthday I replaced the carpet in his office with hard wood floors and painted the walls. Then for Christmas I bought him a brown leather "executive" chair! Not sure what I'm going to do for father's day, but I have plenty of time to think about it

beauty! i want to show this to my dad and see if he gets...inspired! last year he built me a greenhouse maybe this year he can build me a brooder or coop for that matter!

That is a nice brooder, and as those chicks grow, they will need that extra floor space.

Thanks everyone! The middle pannel slides out so when they get bigger I will take that pannel out and they will have even more room. I have another brooder that is the same size and everything so the meat birds can have one, and the egg layers can have the other.

Wow! That's an awesome brooder. We're getting out first ever batch of chicks in about a week. I was going to use a rubbermaid bin, but like your set up a lot better. Could you share the rough dimensions of the boxes?
