New budgie... How long should I wait?

since your birds a female might never get tamed and they can go 24 hours without food before they die

Females can easily be tamed.
Mine is very talkative, learned the command "Kisses", and will fly to my head on cue. Make sure she has food and water, and cover her cage except for the front.

Well thats why I asked first. Even thru pm or whatever? Because I am sick atm and my only internet is thru the phone so I don't want to write up a big long thing, and I don't want to copy/paste from a parrot specific forum from a thread about trust building specifically with new parakeets. Sometimes we come to share. If it’s not a topic I’m interested in I simply move along.
Been many years since I’ve had a budgie. My love for birds started there. All the way up to fostering a Catalina McCaw. Hand raised and sold cockatiel’s too. Now my love is for all things chicken!
I have many fond memories of my little budgies. So yeah...I’d like to hear how things work out.
Is it eating?

Birds are sneaky - see will eat and drink when you're not looking - she will take a good week or two to settle inn and adjust to new people/ surroundings and all the new sounds. Go on YouTube and put on one with other parakeet sounds or even other bird sounds - every once in awhile go talk to her, whistling while you're doing stuff is nice for them too as they hear where you are - not all birds like to be covered -i don't cover any of mine and at least 2 sides have what I call a natural "block" aka walls. I prefer placing a cage in a corner, this way 3 sides are a safe zone and they learn they can just focus ahead. Message me anytime.

‘Buddy’ the budgie is doing great. She’s eating like a champ now. It took her 3 full days but she finally felt comfortable enough to eat. She’s still a little nervous but has started chattering throughout the day. I think she’ll be fine
