New Button Quail mama

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy you've decided to join us:ya
Thank you! I figured it was time. First time bird mom and survived first week or so on a wing and a prayer only( lol. That was not intended). Its time to admit i might need some help with my 4 million questions. :) Indoor pet button quail are quite the learning experience. 7 hatched naturally and 3 were almost goners when I pulled them very late from their severely shrunk wrap eggs. I had heard they were so delicate but luckily they were as willing to fight to survive as much as i was determined to make them survive. Did I expect 10 out of 13 fertile shipped eggs to hatch as a first timer with a crappy amazon incubator? No? Did I need 10 as indoor pets, especially not knowing what sex they will be? Also no. But am I thrilled to have 10 seemingly healthy wee chicklets make it this far. Damn right I am! Lol

Welcome to BYC - well done on the incubation/hatch.
Thank you! After watching a doorbell camera clip of the purlator guy actually and literally throwing the box of eggs with 5 red "fragile" stickers on it onto my concrete front step, I was really prepared for the worst. Even the breeder who sent me the eggs was amazed at the survival rate.
