I another question I have is one of my chicks likes to sleep with her head hanging out side the cage... Could that hurt her neck?

I would recommend putting mesh or something with smaller holes in between them and the large holes. If they have holes large enough to stick their head through they can injure themselves if they get in a frenzy about something. Maybe try a different brooder setup, or line the inside with plastic poultry netting or something similar. Also one thing to consider, is that snakes and rodents can fit through those spaces and you certainly don't want those in with your babies!

Your chickies are so cute! I'm a major newbie too, but there are lots of experts on here that can answer your questions.

You could put a 3-4" piece of cardboard, or newspaper around the inside of the cage to keep her little head in. As long as you don't have any other pets that could harm her, she should be fine I think. They fall asleep in the weirdest places and positions. haha!

As for the waterer, they will make a huge mess of it! I found putting it on some folded up newspaper or small block of wood helps. Now my chickies are bigger and they just knock it over. I bought the poultry nipples for a bucket now, and I've heard chicks learn really fast to use those, if you choose to go that route (they're cheap on ebay).

I couldn't tell you what kind of chickie you got there, but my Buff Orpington (BO) looked a lot like that when they were day-olds. You'll be able to tell more once they start to feather.

Godspeed!

Thanks a lot!!! And what age do u think we can put them outside in a coop? I was thinking like 15 weeks old

Depends on where you live and what the weather is like...I'm in south Florida and my little guys go outside at like 4-5 weeks but if it were colder they would have to stay inside much longer. Also depends on what your setup is like, if you can provide a heat source in the coop, etc.

They can go outside once they are fully feathered. Usually at 6 weeks of age. But lower the temperature in their brooder gradually and then remove the heat lamp completely before you take them out, so they are used to the colder temperatures by then.
Can they eat worms yet!?
When they are 1-2 weeks old you can start feeding treats like worms, but if you feed anything but chick starter they will need grit to help them digest it. If you can't find chick grit sprinkle some coarse sand over their food.
