Thanks for all the great discussion and helpful and friendly feedback! A few updates:
Believe me, none of the engineers are happy with the number of problems found in this last product release, and many of them have been working full-time on rectifying the situation instead of working on what they'd normally be working on. We share your frustrations, and so do the engineers / programmers working on the site. They literally feel the same way that you do about this kind of thing. It creates havoc for their teams, it keeps people up late into the night and working through weekends when they should be with their families, and we know it hurts the experience of our great community users, which we each care deeply about.
We appreciate the patience from our members as we work hard to fix problems and make BYC better!
- We do product updates every 2 weeks. Most of them go by without a hitch... this one unfortunately was fraught with problems.
- The BYC Staff are very aware of the problems and we have been, and are working diligently with the engineers to track down and fix problems.
- One of the most difficult aspects is the bugs that only impact 1/10,000 people. Imagine the almost unlimited number of combinations between computer systems, browsers, browser versions, ISP settings, internet security software applications, browser plugins / extensions, etc. It presents a VERY challenging task to create a system that works for every person in every computer setup.... but we try really hard to do it.
