gosh, I'm sorry about your loss. i read somewhere that light will scare raccoons away and we were thinking about putting a sensor light at the chicken coop ( even though i have it chicken wired and fenced like fort Knox ) never can be too careful

Thanks to all who welcomed us. Since Friday, there is joy back in Butterfield Coop... We introduced a (slightly) younger EE/Araucana type pullet to our surviving Australorp and within a few hours they were tight friends. We corrected the security problems with our coop and continue to fortify our run.
