It's having to accomidate two of us. Evan, my oldest son has his birds, and he's interested in colors and songs, two of the pens are for his birds (he understands what happens to extra birds). The others are for meat production. Since we're in city limits, we can have as many quail as we want, but are limited to 4 chicken hens. We may try to get some jumbo colors, but since I'm not sure how related the coloration gene and the size genes are, it'll be trial and error. But hey the kid doesn't leave for college for 9 years, so he's got time.
