It’ll look like the white hen and rooster in this picture when it grows up, but probably not as large since the ones in this image are carefully bred giant Iranian mixes and can grow up to 3.2kgs meanwhile your common western farm rooster will grow for up to 2.1kgs max.First one resembles a light Brahma
First one resembles a light Brahma
Just picked up a couple new week old chicks from what seemed to be a blend of a few breeds. Any guesses on these two?
Color looks right, but Light Brahmas should have feathers on the legs.
So I think it's more likely to be a Delaware, or a Columbian Wyandotte, or a Columbian Rock. They all have similar color patterns, but no feathers on their legs.
I always wondered how to tell them apart since they look so similar. Seems obvious now, thanks for the explanation!!
There is so much for me to learnTo tell that list apart:
Brahma has feathered feet and pea comb
Columbian Wyandotte has clean legs and rose comb
Columbian Rock has clean legs and single comb
Delaware has clean legs, single comb, and white barring in the black parts of the feathers
(But I could not clearly see the comb on the chick in the photo, so I didn't bring that up in my earlier post.)
