New Chick Mamma!

HI Everyone! Im new to BYC and a new mommy to 26 chicks living in Simi Valley, CA. My kids and I are loving it and Im trying to learn everything I can about chickens. We started with 4 chicks a few weeks ago (thinking that we wanted somewhere around 8) and now have....well....a lot! I guess you could say Im already an addict. Anyway, I already love everything that Ive seen about this site and you will probably see me here often!

I'm glad you've been enjoying the site so far! I hope you continue to do so. 26 chicks, that is a lot. I'd love to have many more too, but living with such a small garden it's pretty much impossible.

Thank you FierLin1182. We are lucky to have a large space for the chickens. I don't think we will be keeping all 26 chicks as some of them were unsexed. I know that we already have one Roo. My great grandfather has a saying "if they lay let them stay, if they crow let them go". Although my husband is considering keeping the Roo. We have already become attached. We will see!

IWe only have 7 chicks right now, but I think we could end up with more soon. It is addicting, isn't it?
