(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are Brandi new to chickens and got our chicks about 3 weeks ago!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 14 total - we have 11 chicks and also took in 2 pullets and 1 cockerel from a family member needing tor rehome them.

(3) What breeds do you have?
The 3 older ones are Ayam Cemani.
We have one of each of the following chicks:
Easter Egger
Olive Egger
Bantam Buff Brahma
Bantam Olde English Game Hen
Bantam Mille Fleur D'Uccle
ISA Brown
Gold Laced Wyandotte
Sapphire Gem
White Silkie
Partridge Silkie
Crested Cream Legbar

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Each chicken has its own personality and it's been really interesting figuring each one out so far.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We enjoy hiking and traveling when we have the opportunity.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm an ER/Trauma Nurse and my wife is a Police K9 Officer. We have the working dog, two small dogs, 2 cats (one is special needs), a chinchilla, and the 14 chickens.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I found BYC on Facebook when looking for chicken community resources! I found a lot of helpful information on the page and decided to join!

Wow, honored to meet you two as your careers were my life, until I retired...EMT/Fire and officer who helped train K9s, though I never had one. One chinchilla here too. :) Chickens will definitely help you both to de-stress!
