Hello,
My name is Stacy and I’m new to this group. I am also new to raising chickens, so I welcome guidance and input. :) I was inspired by a friend take on this adventure because I love the taste of fresh eggs, and you can’t get any fresher than from your own chickens. I’ve wanted to get started for over a year now and finally just did it. I wanted to start with 4-6 chickens, but I waited too late in the year and tractor supply only sells them in quantities of 10. So I ordered 10 Easter Egger pullets, they sent 12. Wow! They were so cute and tiny when I picked them up 5/17. That should make them roughly 2 weeks old. I lost my favorite one about a week into it, yes it broke my heart. :( I’m a sap for all animals. I’m down to 11 wild and spunky chicks. Their colors are amazing, I can’t wait to see what they are going to look like. Their feathers are coming in and they are starting to go through that awkward stage, but they are so fun to watch. Today I put them in their coop/house outside because they keep getting out of the pen I had them in while they were in the house. I can’t have 11 chicks running around messing in my house, lol. Now I gotta find names for all of them.

Welcome!:welcome They are adorable!
Lots of eggcelent information here. I've learned so much since I started in November with 4 babies. Chicken math hit me so I already have 7!
One of mine is an Easter Egger. She laid her first green egg (I love that) 2 days ago. Heres what mine looks like. Her name is Henneth Fowltrow. They are beautiful birds. Congratulations!
