Well in March I became a new chicken mommy to 4 beautiful buff orphington chicks from my local tractor supply store and have recently moved them out to their temporary coop and run. I am mainly here for info and help to make my chickens healthy and happy egg producers so far they al seem to be females.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your new chicks! Good luck with them, may they lay many nice brown eggs for you! A good place to start reading is the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping you'll find helpful. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
If you are building a coop/run be sure to check out the BYC Coops section for all kinds of ideas for a new coop. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/2/Coops
And it is always fun to check out your state thread for chicken keeping neighbors https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

Welcome to BYC!

And congrats on the new chicks! You will love your Orps. They are very docile, friendly and great layers too. Make sure to handle them a LOT as babies. This will really tame them up. When they are adults, they will stalk you for the goodies or a nice soft lap to sit on.

Kelsie has left you with some great links. Definitely stop by the learning center for all the tips on raising your new brood.

Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!
