New chicken additions

Hi,

We have two new additions to our coop. One of them is a Buff Orpington and is supposedly 9 months old and laying. The other is a Favorelle and has laid two eggs so far. The problem is that it has been a week since we got them and the Buff has not laid an egg yet. Her face seems red enough and her comb and waddles are large and red. Is there an adjustment period? Do they just stop laying if they are moved to a new home? How long should I expect to wait for her to lay again before contacting the seller? Did I receive an older hen?

It does take a while for them to get settled in about a month

Ya she is most likely just getting settled in she might start laying sooner than a month

Ahh...adjusting to a new home is a stressful situation for both you and your birds! Give her time...shes adjusting...it may take a whille before you get an egg from her, or it might be a matter of days....it really just depends on the bird...
