Well it's new to me anyway, I have 4 girls and the youngest being maybe 20 weeks old and laying, she is the lowest on the pecking order so she gets the lowest roost and has been sleeping by herself while the other 3 are on the top roost. Yesterday evening when I put them up i was watching them and Gertrude was wanting the top roost but the others were having no part of it so she just squatted down and proceeded to force herself between the others legs taking a pecking here and there till she was at the number 1 position where she stood up proudly. The other 3 just give her the evil eye not sure if she retained it all night but was so proud of her...
