New chicken coop (NewTracktor Pics)

I love it! I was set on a regular coop BUT now I am going to check out designs for a chicken tractor!

Its great been able to move them around the garden when that patch of grass has been eaten, only person thats not so happy is my husband

not sure if this will be of much help but when my silkies were learning the ramp i had to trim the feather puff around there eyes because they couldn't see well enough to go up and down the ramp. i also had to widen the ramp so they didn't fall off as they stumbled up it. good luck

Hi hun, i know this is a bit late but ive put them photos on of the tracktor wheels...thats if your still interested in a tracktor coop. Tracy

Chicks went into the coop at 2 1/2 weeks. After 4 days I opened the pop hole door and left it open all day, closing it at sundown. It took my mixed band of banties 5 days before anyone was brave enough or curious enough to venture outside into their enclosed yard. I picked them up that evening to put them back inside. The next day, instead of picking them up and putting them in I brought a plate of "dinner yummies" and put it inside the coop and called for them...everyone came up the ramp and inside to eat.
Now I just have to call them and they will come in...looking for yummies before bedtime.
They don't like coming into a very dark coop so I have a red bulb on a timer that gives them just enough light to find their beds then turns off.
Using food to get them to go where you want them to go works wonderfully for chooks!

I have a little light inside for them to see, i wonder if i put some mixed corn inside they will come in. It gets that dark where i have to hand put them in. There 12 weeks old and have been in there new coop for 3 weeks now and still dont come in. How will they know theres food in there coop? They sit in the corner huddled together instead of going indoors.. I wonder if the ladder is to high? What do you think..Thanks, Tracy x
