Hey all,

I got my first flock about two months ago when I finally convinced my wife to jump on board with me. I wish we started raising chickens when we first got married. I have 4 hens right now. I went with a barred rock, Rhode Island Red, Americana, and a white australorp. I built a 25 square foot coop in anticipation of increasing my flock to 8 hens in the future. I also will be getting a few khaki Campbell ducks soon. I’m located in Idaho. Anyone else on this site from Idaho? I’m excited to be here and learn all about chicken farming!

Not in Idaho, but congrats on starting your flock. If you’re like me you’ll be addicted right away, and the next thing you’ll know you have 25+ birds!
Haha I believe it! I already want more. There are quite a few breeds that I want to experience and I can't wait until I can go out and collect my own fresh eggs.
